Annual Meeting

Dear Friends,
As is our tradition, the first month of the year is a time when members and attenders of Plymouth Monthly Meeting take the time to come together and prayerfully hold our faith community in corporate discernment, considering our relationship to our faith community and it’s to the world. This year the following queries are offered as a starting place for that shared discernment: What helps you to feel a part of the faith community?
What would draw us together as a community?

What will I be doing this coming year as beloved part of this community? Because of challenges of scheduling, our times of sharing during this annual meeting will be spread over two Firstdays; January 18th, 25th. We will gather in the Annie H Wilson room shortly after the close of worship in the Annie H Wilson room where; after selecting some food to enjoy, we will share our consideration of these three queries as we eat.  A simple meal will be provided on January 18th. On January 25th because of the time constraints of the Music Circle occurring after our gathering we ask that friends bring a brown bag lunch. Dessert and beverage will be provided. If you forget, there will be some food available so please come.

Please come to one of these opportunities, if not both sessions so the discussions can build on one another. As you know, a Quaker Monthly Meeting only exists when it is a faith community. There is no paid staff structure, no minimum obligation to attend or even participate. The depth and strength of our community is its members and attenders. It’s life is the life of those who are it’s community.

Clerks, please forward a report for 2026 committee activities to the Meeting mailbox. If at all possible, send reports within the next two weeks to office@plymouthmeetingquakers.org so that a Monthly Meeting report can be created for our Quarter and the Yearly Meeting.  Reports need not be long. Suggest providing a list of completed activities, plans for next year, and the current and future needs of the committee. If there is a topic that needs information in detail, please do write about it but do not make the report a burden. If it is easier call David Miller and have a conversation. He will collect the information provided. Good work is being done and does not need a lengthy report to prove that. It is important however that we share how we are doing with our Quarter and Yearly Meeting friends. As we also look forward to hearing from them.
